Worst blog/article ever:
http://www.anandtech.com/weblog/showpost.aspx?i=487 I started writing some of my gripes and picking the whole blog and comments section apart, but I couldn't stop and in the end it would take too much time. |

Oh god, "progressives" have taken over AnandTech.
"We need more women writers and points of view, b-b-b-because, THEN more women would read our articles!!!!" Maybe somebody should give him a news flash. The industry is by far a male industry. [shocked] Ohhhhh, I said it. It is like me going into teaching and getting upset that it is a female dominated profession and deciding that we need more men just because I want it. Next, "Anandtech NEEDS more black writers, because Black people like technology too and they are not represented here!!!!! How could they EVER read our articles when they are written by Asians and Whites!!! They can't relate!!!" [no] |

To be fair, there are still some good tech articles every now and then, but this "blog" was so bad it pissed me off for a good hour or so. The author made plenty of unjustified claims, cited anecdotal "evidence" the way middle-school kids do in their essays, and generally sounded out of touch. Is Anandtech so readership-starved they have to resort to such pointless lows?
The author's wife even came to his defense, with a hilariously pathetic post: i'm a chick. *hoists vagina over head to prove it* and there are two obvious reasons for people to overlook my comment post: 1. i'm the wife of the blog poster, and 2. i've written a couple of articles for anandtech in the past. having gotten that out of the way... |

Feminazi Rant Detected
in my personal experience, the flaw in the educational system was not the fault of the professors, but of the students. as i worked up the ranks of mechanical engineering, i found the average female presence per classroom went down as the course numbers went up, and the people who made my life the hardest were the many males in the classroom. several of them tried to make me feel ridiculous for gathering members to do group homework, others acted like a pair of boobs clearly made me a viewing object and not a colleague, one of them even tried to rape me! after giving up on the major altogether, i wandered over to the math department and found all of the chewed up, spat out women. and they were significantly more accepting of their classmates after the trauma of trying to make engineering work. some of you posting here sound so much like the guys from solids. it's kind of horrifying. Women aren't any better. And making fun of group homework isn't because she's female, its because she was getting groups for homework. LF3M ENG 3315. Need 3rd year math and heals. Women are just as perverted as men are, so the boobs thing isn't anything special. Plus you can ignore it unless he gropes you, in which case he's EXPELLED for sexual harassment. The rape thing is once again not unique to women. Guys just don't talk about it. Besides, its not like the ugly chicks in school didn't troll parties for drunk guys to take advantage of. I hate feminazi rape/sex card. I rank that up there with children and terrorism. Just another case of a feminazi blaming men because she's a failure. I could blame any number of groups for descrinating against me and hurting my feelings based on race, gender, age, etc. She can blame other people all she wants, but she quit because she chose to quit. |

Wow that was just severely pathetic and awful, both the "article" and the guys wife.
Seriously, like is said in the first section of the comments - This is the internet: where the men are men, the women are men, and the children are FBI agents. Women read their site (how would they know this?) so they think they need more female writers??? That is the most ridiculous logic i've heard in awhile, i'd say the average female tech geek has more in common with the male tech geeks than other non geeky women. What happened to you Anand, you used to be cool, get rid of that stupid blog! |
