The Worlds most unreasonable tech...

Is me...

Because crushing the front USB ports on a system you didn't buy from us to the point the cables catch on fire and blow your PSU is a warranty issue.

Who knew?

LillyPlay 08-22-2008 07:11 PM

so what did they buy from you lol

the cables?

In all honesty, i think the client has a case, sure its not your system.. your fault...
But he did walk into your shop... so that makes him right... right?

Exactly, its everyone else's fault but their own [thumbup][thumbup][rofl]

Sadly that might be tough, the gentleman (I use the term with reservation) has taken his PC now and "will be contacting trading standards (Trodig Standings as he put it) and his solicitor."

All this over a £12 PSU and £15 of labour.

God, not another muppet who's forced them in the wrong way round, as stupid as it is, that is a very common mistake people make, the usual one for me is people jamming the USB pens into the slot upside down = FIZZ! POP!. http://discussworldissues.com/forums...es/unsure1.gif

Do these sorts of idiots amuse you or annoy you most?
Seems to me it's a case of laugh or cry!

The credit crunch must've hurt some people's wallets then. [surrender]

The public can be thick as s***. [rofl] Might sound extreme, but there are plenty of stupid people out there...

Depends, this guy just annoyed me but I wasn't in a good mood to start with. Under those circumstances it's tough to keep going "Yes sir, I understand sir, I really can't release the system without you paying. I'm sorry."

After a while you just feel like wiping your **** on his power button.

Fortunately we can all have a good laugh after he's gone.

My friend works ISP customer support. Its his fault that this woman was late to her movie because she typed in a zip code for New York instead of Florida. She wants reimbursed for her time and money because she bought tickets and then apparently missed her show or something and it ruined her evening.

I think she needs her internets taken away and given a dunce cap.

LMAO, I would love to see that go before a judge. http://discussworldissues.com/forums...ies/laugh1.gif

Stupid people who know are stupid are fine, not everyone can be smart, its stupid people who think they know everything that are dangerous, not to mention annoying.

ZIZITOPER 08-23-2008 12:56 AM

A person who has a good experience tells maybe 3 people, one who has a bad experience maybe tells 20. Not to mention the customers who may have been there at the time. Even if it wasn't bought from you, is you shop a licensed reseller? If so, its not too hard to perform the warranty work in that case.

IMHO its not really worth you, the shop or the client arguing over a £25.

Like we used to say in my old tech support / customer service job:

"The problem is usually to be found between the chair and the screen".

The age old 'organic interface' problem http://discussworldissues.com/forums...lies/wink1.gif

Not really tech related, but I had to deal with a stupid person yesterday.

I work in a community computer lab located in an old church. There is also a museum here. A lady called asking for directions. I told her where we were and what major highways gets her close. She says "Well I'm on street X in Y-town. Do I turn right at the McDonalds?" http://discussworldissues.com/forums...ies/blink1.gif WTF? I said "I have no idea as I'm not familiar with Y-town". She goes on about how I should know these things. I told her its not my job and to get a friggen map. [rolleyes] Some people are just stupid.
