Default OMFG Robert Jordan is dead.
First Colin McRae and now Robert Jordan, what a terrible weekend. I just saw it being reported, that he died September 16, 2007 from complications from primary amyloidosis with cardiomyopathy.

Jordan had been ill for a long time and was currently trying to finish the last part in the 12 book series, The Wheel of Time. I believe that it was arranged for his family to complete the book, in the event of his death preceding its release.

I don't believe it was meant to be a 12 book series. There is no way it could have wrapped up in just one more book.

Still, Im sure that 12th book will be released. Damn shame. This was the best Fantasy series/writing I had ever read.

Have a read of Jordon's comments here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Memory_of_Light - I dare say that he probably would have liked to run the series for longer than twelve books, but since he was fully aware of his own mortality by 2005/6, he was going to resolve it all in 12, no matter what.

Well, that's kind of what I was getting out without being to detailed. He originally meant it to be a 15 book series I believe. But, yeah, because of this sickness he has had over the last couple of years....

I sure hope that last book gets the royal treatment and nothing is left hanging. Would be a damn shame to a great tale other wise.

Man, I was just on his web page the other week and it seemed that he had the disease under control.
