About 3 months ago I was on freesat from sky which is basically like freeview and you dont have to pay anything per month, then i received a letter saying i could try out all of the channels (normally £45 a month) for 3 months and get £50 of m&s vouchers all for free!, so I went ahead.

I read all the terms and condition carfuly because i thought there would be a catch bt there wasn't! Over the next 2 and a half month I received a few letters saying amongst other stuff that I had to cancel the contract 2 weeks (29/8) before the end of the 3 months of free viewing otherwise I would have to pay £45 every month for 12 months!

I got a letter on the 23rd reminding me so I rang them up and was put through to the cancelling dep. The woman asked why I was cancellin an as soon as I said because the 3 months is nearly up she said "well im not going to let u" and hung up! [shocked]

I then rang back and spoke to a customer services woman and she said that that was terrible, she then put me through to another woman at the cancellin dep. and that woman told me that if i canceled before the "contract" had ended I would be charged for getting out of the contract![surrender] So I told her that I have had loads of letters telling me that if I leave it within 2 weeks of the end of my free viewing i will have to pay £540 minimum! bt she was tellin me that I was gonna be charged if I ended it before then. Anyways.... after telling her that i would need what she was saying in writing before I left things as they are she eventually went away to speak to someone and then came bak and told me she shouldn't hav been telling me that or something!

I just find it terrible that sky were trying to keep me in this contract using every means possible! sorry for my massive rant but i was crappin myself at the thought of payin £540 on a students none existent income! especially because its a bank holiday weekend and i needed to have it all done by tuesday!
