ok my dads pc he had a hardrive crash we reformated and reinstalled windows not know he didnt back up a important tax file!!!please tell me how i can recover it

Take it out the machine now. Chances are you've already overwrittern some files, but if you've only done a base install you could still retrieve some information. Put it in another system and use one of a million recovery programs about to pull out all the old data - trouble being you'll prob have lost the files names so you'll need to go by file type - .doc, xls etc... picture files is always interesting.

it just one small file less then 700 k i bet its a .tax
