Default Thistle Hotels?
Alright everyone,

Anyone ever stayed in a Thistle Hotel?

I've just booked one for a training course ... First Class Rail to Euston Station via Virgin Trains (Which I know is very good), then an Executive Room at the Thistle Hotel, just curious what this hotel is like, or Thistle Hotels in general?

I wanted the Hilton but it was full for the week I needed it, so I hope this one is worth the extra cash "work" has had to spend [thumbup]

Cheers

I worked in one on the bar for a few weeks in Cardiff. Seemed pretty decent enough, but never saw the rooms.

I suppose the important question should've been... what are the bars like? good variety of fermented vegetable drinks? [thumbup]

I stayed at the Thisle Royal Horseguards in London a few years back.
Was a very nice hotel indeed.

Thats the kinda reply I was hoping for!

I stayed in the Melia Whitehouse last time I was in London and it was lovely, but it was booked up too so wanted to try somewhere new.

The price of hotels in London is just silly though. I'm glad I aint paying! [rofl]

Which one is it?

London hotels are insanely-priced nowadays. A firm favourite of mine when I used to go to London for interviews was Grosvenor House (used to be Le Meridien when I stayed there; now I think it's Marriott IIRC).

Nought wrong with 'em, but normal pubs are better.

Not heard of that one, though I know Marriott's are decent hotels. I needed one in the Euston/Covent Gardens area because I'm on on a training course down there.

True, but when the tab is put on the room bill which is paid for by work it makes it so much nicer [thumbup]

I stayed at the Thistle Barbican a last summer when I was in London, and I thought it was a very nice place. At times I thought the room got very hot, which put me off a bit, but then again, that can't be helped much in July. I'd go for it.

Thats one of the things I hope to avoid, I hate hot hotel rooms. It does say their air conditioned but most of the time rooms only let u UP the temperature not LOWER it
