And btw Valhalla, it's pretty wrinkled for a 9 month old.

Run a little search on Shar pei..the wrinkles are highly desired.

We went to the vet on Thursday and he has a severe yeast infection in his ears, infection in both eyes, bacterial skin infection. Basically this pup is a walking petri dish. They gave him a cortisone shot for the itching, antibiotics for the skin, ear and eye infections, drops for the eyes and ears and a medicated shampoo. The fleas are history and so are the worms.

From there it was off to the doggie spa where he got the works. He is now safe to hug.

He is responding well to all the meds he is on and most of the swelling is gone from his legs. He is going to be on the large side for a shar pei, at 7 months (vets estimate) he already weighs 65lbs.

At some point he has had an eye lift for a condition called Entropian. Thats where the eyelid turns inwards and the lashes constantly scratch the eye. He will require surgery to correct the cherry eye but wont worry about that until all the infections are cleared up and his hair is in better shape.

My brother has been begging us not to have him neutered, saying that this dog has the most free swinging pair he has ever seen and it would be criminal to cut them off. Maybe we could get him those prostetic ones.

We couldnt be any happier with his disposition, while a bit stubborn he never fought or growled during anything he has had to go through since we brought him home. He is really sweet and already affectionate and territorial about our yard. Yesterday he started moving and behaving more like a puppy and it made the several hundred dollars we spent seem very worthwhile.

Thanks for all the good wishes...will post periodically about his progress.
