Default Scratch offs... Think I'll get addicted?
I decided to play scratch offs but to prevent my self from getting addicted and throwing my money away... I have decided to make a plan!
I start off each Sunday with 5 dollars... Buy any type of scratch off.. $1/$2/$5..... What ever I win... I decide what to do.. A) Keep it.... B) use it to get more tickets.... C) Keep it and save it for next week and add the $5 bucks onto it for more tickets!

If i spend the entire 5 bucks or any of the winnings in that week... Well too bad time to wait till next week... I'm on my 2nd week now!
Week 1.... $5 ----- > $20... Think about it... Then said ehhh spend it all on more tickets... $20 ----- > $5... Told me self to keep it for next week and add $5 to it and buy more tickets... now week 2

Sunday (just passed) I buy $10 in tickets 1 $5 dollar and 1 $2 and 3 $1

Ok i get home... Start my scratching! $30!!!!
Today I decided what the hell.. Forget next week... so i get 3x $5 4x$2 7x$1....
I do the cheap ones first save the 5 dollar ones for last... I only made 8 dollars... I cried... I then did 2 5 dollar ones... Nothing... 3rd one had 5 wins on it for total of 50 bucks baby! SO i figured save it for next week and add 5 bucks and see where that goes!

Not bad for 5 bucks :P
I'm so getting addicted (HELP ME)

You're not exactly good at controlling yourself?

Heck you better not go in the casino, god knows what would happen if you won $10 after losing $100.

I've been in casino's before and I've had my fair share of winnings and losing (actually I only lost £10 but that's enough for me to stop).

Exactly. It's rare to find myself doing a bit of gambling, but even when I do, you just need the commonsense to know when to stop.

Everytime I went to a petrol station a few months back, I might buy a scratchcard. Once I won £18 on one, but after about a dozen losses and possibly the odd £1 win (seriously, what's the bloody point buying a scratchcard in the first place if you're just going to win your stake back?), I thought enough is enough. [yes]

That's a great plan. Especially seeing it made you 40$ profit already [thumbup]

The trick is knowing when to quit (or spend your winnings) really. If you keep putting your winnings back into tickets, one day you'll end up with nothing, and all the effort would have been a waste.

My problem is not so much common sense... I do it with everything. My problem is I set standards or know "I can't afford it". But I eventually convince my self to "Buy" or "Spend" the money... Kinda sad really : /
BUT! My last dumb purchase landed me a job... So it's not all bad... Bought a nice Toshiba laptop for gaming only to have it blue screen on the 2nd day brand new... The memory slots were bad providing WAY too much volts to the ram and killed the ram. No ram would work on the mobo and the original ram wouldnt work on any other mobo. SO I took it to the Toshiba authorised center in Washington DC and explained the problem. I guess they needed someone right away and thought I would be good since i diagnosed it :P
I was pissed off since I did not want the lappy repaired ... So I repaired it and sold it to someone for 300 less than I bought it for.

No I'm not in Tehran right now, but I travel there often hehe. Although not anytime soon, they will send me straight to the army now since I am 22.

Eh, I used to buy em once a week. Now I do it maybe once every couple months. I'll spend $5-10 and keep buying more with my winnings until its either gone or I hit $50. If I get $50 I buy another $10 worth of tickets but the $40 remains untouched.
