Default Anyway to bullshit myself out of an 18month contract?
Hey all, this time last year i bought a w810i on contract with orange, for 18 months. i've been keenly browsing the current offers to get a free ps3 with similar packages, and i've been contemplating how to cancel my contract now after just 12 months, although it seems difficult.

however, just yesterday i recieved a text from the company i bought the phone from, saying they would pay off the rest of my contract and give me more mins, txts etc, free upgrade, if i take out a new contract with them.

now, obviously i have an opotunity to ask the shop to give me a free ps3 (which unfortnatly they dont even have a website to see), or the other option is to simply try get out of my 18month contract another way.

has anyone managed to sucessfully get out of 1? tips would be super lol

It's called a contract for a reason.
People really don't seem to realise the true value of handsets when they get them and also seem to think that telco's are happy to lose money.
Handsets are not cheap, however giving you free minutes and texts in essence costs them nothing.
You being on an 18 month contract means that you pay 18x your monthly fee and they will realise the value of the handset - and basically get their money back.
So of course they won't let you out eary.

Call them with the offer to pay the next six months of line rental in one go and they will let you go.
Other than that you have to wait for a change in the contract which is detrimental to you, as you can then instantly cancel.
If neither of those options are for you then you'll need to ride out things until you've paid off all 18 months.

Bitch non stop about everything. Thats how I got out of my BT contract, although it was justified as I never saw decent speeds, was coaxed in to signing a new contract on the basis of getting up to 5mbps, when in fact I was stuck on 2mps for 4 months until a power outtage got my ip profile reset ( which I told them COUNTLESS times was the problem ) and all of a sudden my speeds went up. The they starteed throttling http, torrents in fact everything between 7pm til midnight. So I ended up with an unuseable connection that was not as described.

So I got in touch with the chairmans executive office and they released me. So unless you have tangible problems to justify getting out you got no change without paying

Luckily I got out six months early, with two free routers and a dect phone which I am now selling
