Breaks should be 30mins min every 4hrs but most firms / employees have to be flexible because certain working conditions need a flexible approach...IE Airport workers (me) flights check in constant from 3am till midnight so taking breaks isn't that easy [thumbdown] but i always get around it http://discussworldissues.com/forums...lies/cool1.gif |
Aren't security guards on break most of the day?

I was a security guard for Pinkerton for a few years. Security guards don't get breaks, and aren't entitled to by law, either. I believe the phrase was something along the lines of "A 30 minute break every six hours or a 1 hours break every eight hours unless the nature of the work provides ample time for resting and eating during normal activity."

That was in North Carolina, and state laws usually dictate such rules. In NC two guards weren't necessary. |

Mind you in the last year things have started to change as our new team leader is quite up on Health and Safety and can deal with the bosses quite well, i on the other hand tend to be as sarcastic as possible and swear alot [rofl] |
