Well okay... After listening (I bought it after all) to the album couple of times I think it's more of a 80/20 (good vs. bad) situtiation...
Songs that are paired are very good, 2 4 6 and 8. Rest is okay/good but what's the deal with (7)Hands Held High? Man that song sucks big time... ![]() EDIT: My favourite is easily "Leave Out All The Rest" [yes] |

Kyros - don't waste your time with him. On more than one occasion, he has shown that his taste in music is rather..... lacking. Just let him be; he will always come to threads like this and drop a load. It is just something you have to get used to . It's not like I am just blabbering out, this sucks or that sucks. I gave reason for my opinion. So now it's my taste, huh ! |

Isn't this a discussion board? Why do we always have to agree by total consensus on the subject matter. |

your reasons dont make any sense though. you say all their songs sound the same... yet the reason some people dont like the new album is because it sounds so different. anyway the first post wasn't so bad, it was the "Rehashed narcissistic garbage made to appeal to the emo masses." post which was slightly pointless. Rehashed narcissistic garbage made to appeal to the emo masses. It's 1. Rehashed - reworking of previous material, new stuff sound mostly like old songs. 2. Narcissistic - like all their other albums, this one is less so but it's still quite so too. In a bad way, may I add. 3. Garbage - It's garbage. 4. Made to appeal to the emo masses - now they are also trying to appeal to newer crowds with certain songs, thats why some "fans" think that it sounds different. There you go. |

What's wrong with that, it's a short summation of their latest album. Anyways: Rolling Stone said, "Rap metal is dead. Linkin Park are not." Rock Sound, giving the album 8/10 stars, praised the change of style and "tangible sense of growth and maturity," ending their review with, "Linkin Park have finally grown up." |

You're such a lamer. You copied word for word what Evan Davies said; which means you haven't heard the album. So much for your "music knowledge". He may have had some of the same thoughts I had on the album, it's not some album that takes a lot to figure out. I listened to it a few times, since last Thursday. And now you're quoting Rolling Stone, don't you know anything about the credibility of that magazine ? You'll find a decent article or review once every blue moon but the rest is record company payola. And the incredibly biased Rock Sounds which tackles almost exclusively rock music, they also had Fall Out Boy on their cover in the April issue. |

I've only heard one song from MtM, even though I recently aquired the album.
The moment it came on I looked at my girlfriend and said "This sounds like Linkin Park..." and sure enough, it was. Not sure what song it was. It was ok though. But for everyone expecting more of the same, they've been saying for weeks now that it's completely different, and that they were going for a more mature sound. I'm looking forward to it. Besides, I like change. It's what keeps us from being eaten by dinosaurs and brought us Mt. Dew Code Red. |

Don't start telling me I'm elitist. ![]() Well, the magazine is called Rock Sound, so what did you expect? Happy Hardcore reviews? IMO there's always a place for genre specific music publications. |

In terms of elitism, your post history would sometimes suggest otherwise. I like you, but sometimes that's the way you come across. Sorry. I really listen to anything regardless of genre or popularity. I'm really not some elitist snob. Don't genre specific magazines and fans strike you as being hugely elitist. They are mostly biased and regard that specific genre as the absolute best while never actually listening to any real music beyond it. |

i think rock sound a more likely to be more critical of rock music, because thats all they know. they can't rate every bit of rock music good can they? Same goes for other genre specific mags like rap reviews.com. I also have ratings or give the album a score, it demeans the music. |
