Default Help Siro purchase a digital camera
The PowerShot pwns. The 800 has IS as well, IIRC, but don't go any higher than that (900 and 1000 are worse)

Fuji took beautiful pictures in low light condition. Specially at the price of their products.

I've posted two pictures, the first one is a crop of a pictures takes by the Canon at ISO 800. The Next one is a photo done by the Fuji at ISO 1600. I'm really impressed by the quality.

It is known to be less sharp, and has smaller zoom (though a wider aperture similar to 28mm, which I don't think I'll use).

How does it function in indoor photos?

Also, the photos taken with the Fuji 31fd seem sharper...

Replying to cronos - the fuji pics at high iso have less noise but are more smeared...

anyways, how important do you guys thing Image Stabilization really is?

i'm a photoshop man myself.

how important is low light high iso shooting, vs. just using flash with canon?

does IS not help in ... well.. all photos? most of the photos I take in regular cameras tend to be very shaky.

i can control directly the shutter speed in fuji?

The question is:
Would you do low light pictures?

If yes; choose Fuji, If No: Choose Canon!

Canon ISO 800
Even with a lower ISO, the Canon is pretty noisy!

My wife owns the canon and I have never seen anything go through batteries like that in my life.

Great pictures until the battery gets low and then things get kinda blurry.

I recommend getting rechargable batteries immediately if you buy this camera.

Check out this site by the way, although it only has the F30 it's interesting to see the same photos side by side from different cameras:

Going by that site, I like the, as close as I could compare, Canon over Casio.

I would suspect a tripod since it has no stabilization built in.
Canon and Pentax are long-time quality, so I lean to them. I like tried and true.

Why would a shakey old man like you not consider image stabilization important?

Don't buy a camera because the brand is popular, or people like to wet their pants about it, buy it because it does what you want it to.
