Default R/C experts - i need your help !
i just bought a r/c boat.

the problem is this.

if the boat is farther than 15' away from me, it keeps cutting out.
i have even put brand new batteries in the remote.

so my guess there is something wrong with the remote or there is something wrong with the receiver on the boat. how can i find out what is wrong and how can i fix it ?

Lots of things to check. Is it a proper RC boat with proper equipment or a ready-built one with all-in-one custom electronics?

Try it on land. Move the controls while you walk away from the boat with the motor running (not at full throttle) and then do the same with the motor off. Do you get longer range with the motor off?

Has the antenna ever touched the negative pole of the battery or any other electric part? Is the antenna extended on both boat and transmitter?
