If you can get onto the desktop via safe mode, right click "my computer", go to properties, then (copied from random other site):
In the System Properties window, click on the Advanced tab. Locate the Startup and Recovery area and click on the Settings button. In the Startup and Recovery window, locate and uncheck the check box next to Automatically restart. Click OK in the Startup and Recovery window. Click OK in the System Properties window. From now on, when a problem causes a BSOD or another major error that halts the system, the PC will not automatically reboot. Rebooting manually will be necessary. If you can't get into safe mode, well, see above post ;o) |

There error said something about checking for viruses, newly installed hardware and then something about using CHDSK /F to check the HD. Just get into the recovery console through the Windows disc, run chkdsk, fixboot and fixmbr and most likely it's fixed [thumbup] |

So I run Acronis True Image 9.0 because every other option has not worked. I am working my through it and realize I might mess something up in the process (it did say that some of the backup was restored).
Then I am on the splash page for Acronis and just click on the go to Windows option. Lo and behold it goes into windows no problem and all of my stuff I need is all there! Now I am afraid of rebooting for fear of not getting back in. |

Tmhat would suggest that it was just a lost boot sector/mbr type thing. If it didn't fix it for you, you could try going to start->run, type in msconfig then go to the boot.ini tab and click the "check boot path" button.
Also, there isn't a default admin password, it's specified when you install. You can always try just pressing enter (for no password) if it crops up again, but hopefully you'll be alright now. |

I did what you said and it says all boot pathes are ok.
When i was able to FINALLY get into recovery console and hit Chkdsk /p it said the HD did have one or more errors on it. I am scared to shutdown for fear of not being able to boot again! Is there any diagnostics I can run on the HD while in windows? |
