Default Cleaned my closet.
Was looking forward to this, but I almost forget how painful it can be to throw old stuff away.

Today's trip to the bin (the lobby of my building, actually, in case someone wants something) included about ten 3-10 GB HDDs, a couple PCI modems, a few PCI 10/100 NICs, my precious Virge DX 4MB PCI, an i740 AGP 8MB, my original Sound Blaster Live 4.1, an old Pentium (probably a 120 or 133), and an old Celeron (333 maybe?).

It hurts, but it's something that must be done every now and then. Any of you cleaned out you computer closets lately?

My old kit ends up as my sisters usually. I don't think I have ever thrown out a piece of equipment. Never know when that 28.8k ISA modem will come in handy! [shocked]

I'm having a flashback to the $200 my mom spent on a 14.4 USR, and then the $200 I spent in 1997 on a... what the heck was it called... Diamond Supra something. I never did get a download going faster than 3.7 KB/sec on that thing.

Is the pain metaphorical, not literal this time? [thumbup]

I know he feeling, I can hardly ever throw away anything computer related. When it comes to selling everything goes much easier though.

If it was a PCI, those things are still worth something.

I frequently open the door of my PC closet, see all the crap, then think "nope - I really can't be arsed to clear it out today....." [surrender]

However when i am searching for something and cannot find it because of all the useless crap I keep, I know that I really should sort it all out.

I chuck it all in the loft, once there's enough for a complete system that's worth selling it goes on the local classified ads, make £80-£100 for some real rubbish.
