Stuttering during phone conversations..
 

Hi guys, im not new but eh..used to be SonOfRamon but i guess the account got deleted cuz i cant guess the password for the life of me..anyway i created a new account..I saw the thread about stuttering during Speeches.
Well I have a similiar problem...only its during phone conversations. For some reason I find it hard to talk to someone I can't see visually. My sentences over the phone sometimes don't make sense, I'll rearrange words bya ccident and it would sound like im a total jackass...this is especialy happening with a friend thats a girl who talks to me, we're pretty close to dating because she likes me and I like her...itsj ust I keep stuttering like a fool on the phone, any tips? Or like sometimes i'll pronounce certain portions of the word wrong or won't say the word right and sound like an idiot...its really annoying because sometimes I can hold intelligent conversations where I don't sound like a robot and i pronoucne everything properly and smoothly..this then again does not happen when i am int he viscinity of that particuliar person..only when im on the phone..any tips on havin a smoother conversation? i dont want this girl to get the wrong idea

You could try to make a list of things to talk about or let her take the lead in the conversation.

Funny you say that, I actually write myself lil yellow post-it notes and stick them inside my flip phone for things to talk about..i had dead silence..and a few times we had nothing but that dreaded dead-air..[no]

its not really the topics of discussion that gets me, although what are some good topics for a new relationship? I really wanna get serious with this girl...

anyhoo my main problem is getting tongue tied it sucks..

I got an idea!!

Get a picture of whomever and post it on the wall... and talk to "it"

I'm as awkward and sky speaker as they come, back start talking about computers, mtg, or games and be prepared to get caught in a few hours worth of conversation. Point is, find common interests that you have and talk about it.

-And a real interest, not what tv/moive you like or how you enjoy food.
