Default What is it with play.com's delivery system?
I mean, seriously, do they put their stuff on the backs of snails or something?

I ordered 3 books, and C&C3, all on the 9th April. They all shipped on the 10th April.

The 3 books arrived in one package 5 days ago, but there is as yet no sign of C&C3

This happened to me about 3 years ago, I ordered Resident Evil: Zero for the GC and a few other items and RE:0 never arrived. I reckon the postman stole it.

However I contacted Play, they removed that order and assigned it as "undelivered" and sent me a new one which arrived about 2 days later.

The bugger is that play.com won't let you report an item as not having arrived until 21 days after it was shipped.

/twiddles thumbs a bit longer.

Yeah, great prices, fast service but slow shipping.

Stuff takes 10-15 days to come to Malta too.

Thats because they need to dig out old pirate maps and go in search of Malta... sometimes they stand more chance of finding Atlantis....

Yeah, that's the downside to play - Cheap, free shipping, but Shipping speed isn't always great I've ordered something from play.com and playusa.com and had the one from the US arrive first before x)

When it comes to games, I normally order from gameplay.co.uk now since It almost always arrives next day and if you pre-order they guarantee to have it with you by release date, and usually it arrives the day before

I know what you mean... I placed an order a few months back for a Pro Evolution Soccer 6 (PS2). It was delayed for 14 workings days so I got a refund. I thought it got lost in the mail or something. But after about 2 months (I f*** you not...), I get home and there it is. Delivered 2.5 months overdue...

Edit: Btw I have ordered books and cd's many times from them and there was never a problem in delivery times.

It seems totally random - Sometimes things will Arrive within a day or 2, sometimes they disappear for days or weeks on end :S

I upset Reoryn before when I told him that I've never had a problem with play.com in terms of a late delivery in the 3 years that I've used them.

I'll usually have forgotten placing the order by the time it arrives, so it's always a pleasant surprise. I think it usually takes one or two weeks to get here - it's never been extraordinarily long...

Looks like a good idea, but you're generally not going to get stuff much cheaper than Play.com (for example, Stalker was priced at 18 quid when I bought it) at other sites. Not going to deny the fact there are cheaper prices elsewhere, but I can't say I like having my card details all over the place.

Ive ordered twice for myself, Doom 3 which went missing, I suspect Royal Mail handlers stole it, I had to wait 14 days till Play.com deems it lost, they sent a replacement and received it a few days later.

Supreme Commander - I pre-ordered it late but it still got to me 1 day after official release.

My bro ordered a few things too, no hassle.

I suppose it depends on your area, I have a Royal Mail depot about 10mins walk away so Play.com uses them exclusively which at best is awesome quick service, but on very, very, very rare occasions parcels go "missing" ;\
