Default Am I getting a Promotion? Getting Fired? No longer exist?
About three or four weeks ago, I interviewed for developer at my current job. I am currently a higher level tech support that spends little time dealing with customers. Now, they sent out an email with a new schedule to everyone, which starts next week, yet I am not on it. There is someone else in place of my shift.

I was also chatting with one of the developers and he said "Are you sure you don't want to stay out there?" in a joking manner.

Now, I have not heard anything on this position. No news. Am I getting a promotion where I will be the last to know? Or are they going to fire me? Maybe they think I'm quitting. Or maybe I don't exist, and my job is just a figment of my imagination.

This could also be part of an April Fools joke, and they are just teasing me.

IMO, you should start looking for a new job.

Just bring it up with your manager, at least if you're going you'll know. Imagine how bad you'd feel if you worked when you could be at home getting drunk with your severance pay.

From what you've said, I would suspect you've got the job and they're teasing you a bit, especially if you get on well with the rest of the staff.
Regardless, you're plainly concerned and should be bringing it up with your manager, ASAP. Least they can do is let you know.

My workplace wrote a 5 year plan and left me off it a few years back. Then said "Oops forgot about you" ... [rofl]

It only means that you may plan your own working hours, when to come, when to have a break and when your ready to go home...

But than, maybe not.

Not asking for advice, sharing a weird experience. I'm pretty sure I have the job, since I didn't apply and was asked to do the interview by my boss. I've already had three raises (33% total from when I first started) and one promotion and I've been there less than a year.

Well, it's finally confirmed that I got the promotion. Although because we have a bunch of new people that need to be trained, I will still help out in support for the time being while I transition to development. I'll mainly be coding in ASP + SQL.
