RIAA trying to kill Internet radio - your help is needed!
 

What's up guys,

First off, I apologize if this is a repost, but even if it is it's important enough that it needs to be seen again.

I don't know if you've been keeping up on the news lately, but the RIAA is now behind a very serious attempt to hike royalty rates through the roof for Internet radio broadcasters. If this goes through then many, or most, Internet radio stations WILL go off the air for good.

If you are even remotely concerned about this, as you should be if you're a fan of music, then you need to check out the web address below which gives a lot more information on the subject. At the very least, take a minute to sign the online petition while you're there - I did. Don't let the RIAA c@ck up the music industry any worse than it already has!

Quite simply, that would suck. I wonder if that would affect npr? Doesn't seem like it would.

I dont listen to online streams but I know alot of people do so that would suck for those people.

I do however listen to my Sirius online once in a while but that is paid for and included with my satellite subscription.

Probably quite good for the bigger broadcasting companies.

of course the RIAA wants to kill the internet radio, it's an easy way to get legal MP3s with the right software


they should rather offer DRM free 320 kbps MP3s , that would shift plenty of people to buyable downloads

I pay for my Di.fm internet radio.

they pay the royalties to the artists so wheres the problem >:?@

the RIAA members only getting half of the money while they get a lot more from CDs and downloads [rolleyes]
