Roush vs. Saleen

For a Mustang GT V8, which supercharger would offer better performance, more responsive and has more potential.

Saleen that produces 400hp / 420lb.ft torque (100/100 increase over stock) @ 4-5 psi

Roush that produces 415hp / 385lb.ft torque (115/65 increase over stock) @ 5 psi

The Saleen is also like $500 cheaper and has the throttle in front of the engine, where as the Roush has the throttle in the back of the engine bay, so the intake has to wrap around.

Just looking at it, I thought that the torque numbers where closer. Not really sure why I am going to be posting this now. Roush has 15hp more, but has 35lb.ft torque less. For some reason I thought that it was like 20 or something. Oh well, going to post anyways since I am already done.

in a straight line yes but the mustang corners like a brick..... and beemers are renouned for cornering

unless its the new roush one with fully independant suspension and not the live rear suspension the normal ones have inc the shelby

Yeah, Top Gear tested the GT500 vs. the Roush Mustang. Roush has like 80/80 less power and went around the track 2 seconds faster then the GT.

A live axle doesn't automatically mean worse handling. The 82-2002 F-bodies are quick and stable, but use a live axle 3link setup. The 4 link setup the Fox body and SN-95 Mustangs have is not very good at cornering but does excel at straight line grip. The downsides to live axles is that rough, uneven pavement can unsettle the rear end of the car because the rear tires are linked together.

I say Saleen, has a better reputation with mustangs than Roush does.

the saleen, if its the same as the shelby, looked aweful on the top gear track. the extra power made no difference and the suspension made it handle like crap. it looked a mess.
