Default Ebay Question
Ok, here is the scenario:

Bought an item. Shipping was described as Air Mail for $6.96 CDN including insurance.

I received the item today. It was shipped regular mail uninsured, postage totaling $0.52 CDN.

Should I be asking fro a partial refund of shipping costs? Or should i just leave neutral feedback? The item works exactly as described, but I am a bit annoyed at being overcharged that much for shipping.

I'd leave neutral if you paid for insurance and they didn't **** it insured. They jack up the shipping on ebay and lower the item price to make more profit. I'm fine with that as I always check the combined shipping+item price to determine if its a worthwhile purchase. However, one thing I don't let sellers get away with is screwing me on insurance. If I paid to have it shipped insured you better ship it as insured.

anyway, I agree with RainWind. Though, I'd ask for a partial refund before leaving neutral feedback.

i never have any idea what shipping will cost anyway when sending things.

i just see it as a packing and posting charge, which could include anything from the box you sent it in, to the petrol you used to get to the post office. imo its just a rough guess of what it cost you to send it.

some sellers might sell an item for £18 with £2 postage where as others sell the same item for £5 with £15 postage.

when buying an item i'd take the asking price for postage into account, becuase that, plus your bid is what your paying to receive the item.

i myself my jack up postage to try and cover for the paypal fee' etc.

GAH! And I'm always so careful about typos. Guess I'll leave it since I've already been quoted. :P If he gives you a partial refund on shipping I'd leave him a positive. Last time I asked about that with a seller they told me to pretty much go shove it. Its happened to me three times, and after the first time I didn't bother asking about it. I've had enough shipping mishaps that I want insurance on everything and if the seller forgets it probably wasn't on accident, they probably had no intention of insuring it. Drop shipping is pretty cut throat because there's too many people in the market, and they'll do anything to squeeze out an extra dollar here and there.

Yeah most things on ebay can be resolved amicably.
