Default Apple makes fun of VISTA
It's another one of those PC/Mac adverts by Apple.

I saw those the other day, they are pretty funny. Although I think it shows weak character when a company has to directly bash the competitor.

Well M$ deserve the battering, all these claims Mr. Gates has made and nearly all have been shown to have some rather large holes in.

I think with Apple's boom in sales, popularity on the increase and having the mighty C2D in them + a totally re-engineered OS on the way they are at an all time high [thumbup]

Adverts crack me up, new British ones are very funny also

What worries me is the more Macs that are out there, it gives more of a reason for people to create viruses and spyware for them.

Lol, is that all you have or is the:

durr - "mac's can't play games"

comment coming next ..... you would think some people are totally oblivious to alternative measures of using a computer.... ah well you carry on living the dream that is windows and I will baith in the hassle free pleasures of OSX. Will leave gaming to those who have free time and the ore inspiring M$ rubbish at their finger tips [surrender]

Edit; OSX 10.5 is updating to ZFS not what is being used in 10.4, so should make it more difficult as the 10.4 erra is coming to an end!

Yeah I'm just waiting for the attack ads: "Microsoft said they'd give WinFS, They didn't deliver, they claimed they'd give you blah, blah, blah but did they? Go with an OS that does what it says it will...Paid for by the commitee to elect Apple"

From that link:-

Ultimately the campaign's biggest flaw is that it perpetuates the notion that consumers somehow "define themselves" with the technology they choose. If you truly believe you need to pick a mobile phone that "says something" about your personality, don't bother. You don't have a personality. A mental illness, maybe - but not a personality.

yeah that "rise" in popularity has netted them a whole 4-5% of the computer market... [yawn] and the only way they even got that much was because IMO they started to become more compatible with PC's i.e using intel CPU's and being able to run windows.

Heh, that's a great article He also managed to negate the need for me to make the next section of my post which was regarding the ad that claims Macs do "fun stuff" as oppose to the pc's "work stuff".

That notion in its self is flawed, anyone who has money buys brands that ooze quality and luxuary, want an expensive exec car;

BMW
Audi

Want some fashionable clothes, a nice suit perhaps;

Gucci

So just because Apple stipulates they intend to hunt for a market where wealth and success is paired with designer and fashionable personal effects that means they can be labeled as selling to a mental dificient person.... hmmm

Funny concept of the world that, so wealthy and style consious are retarded because they wish to spend there money on items that fit there life style?

Heres an idea; maybe its only people who have a sense of style and pride about themselves care about what personal items they carry with them. Now the argument that something may look great but be as useful as a slap in the face has a point.
But here is the glincher, what if a product is beautiful and fantastic to use.... there is a recipe for success. Apple seems to be playing that card, so whats so wrong with that?

Edit - ignoring ignorante confounded posts regarding Apple, really getting quite tired of having to enlighten the unintelligable on subjects they care to comment on, that they seem to have no background knowledge of.

Hmm maybe not insulting people would have a better result on your campaign of elightenment, because right now you just come off looking like a religious nut. [ban]

Agreed, just because people have different opinions doesn't mean they are idiots.

to the OP: I don't agree with your opinion of apple and apple products but I'm not degrading you because of it. Oh and BTW you do realize you are letting yourself be lowered to the level of insults by an argument over a computer brand right?

Hardly insults, clear statement in plain english saying that numerous fools keep coming into Apple threads to state;

Mac's can't play games
Mac's take up less than 5% of computer world

Now if I choose to state what I think about Apple in an Apple thread then thats fine, but for gods sake if people are going to start slating everything to do with them with utterly flawed statements every damn time its getting a little childish.

I am objective about this topic, I have used Windows for years, I chose to go Apple for my own reasons. This forum is full of silly young kids who are eager to cause flaming, a topical discussion is out of the question.....

So you can see my enthusiasm when such morons arrive!
