While I was watchin JC1TV about the seminar held here in Jersey City about illgeal guns with mayors from around the country, it appears that after Healy introduced him Bloomberg said he has a special place in his heart for Jersey City and was here often because his mother was born and raised in Jersey City and went to Dickenson high-school.
Bloomy loves Jersey City cause his mother and family were from here!!!! ![]() |

JCman, there's something I don't understand. If I lived in Jersey City, I would be very proud of the Army Corps of Engineers at the Caven Point facility there.
Among many things, they recover dead whales from New York harbors and prepare the carcasses for necropsy. In the past 5 years, they have recovered at least 5 five whales, ranging in size from 50-60 feet. On April 19, they retrieved and docked a 2-ton baby whale that had thrashed around Brooklyn's Gowanus Canal for 2 days before dying. I sent you a PM about this. What I don't understand is why you wrote about Bloomberg's mother, but did not write about the great whale feats your branch of the Army Corps performs -- especially this last one. ![]() Below is the PM I sent you. ________________________________________________ April 25th, 2007, 03:36 AM Rapunzel ![]() Senior Member Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Queens-Nassau Border Posts: 1,075 ![]() Just to let you know that the baby female whale that thrashed around Brooklyn harbor for 2 days, and then died, was hauled to Jersey City. She was docked there and will get a necropsy. The whale news starts with post #45 here: http://wirednewyork.com/forum/showth...ighlight=whale The New Jersey part starts here: http://wirednewyork.com/forum/showpo...0&postcount=49 |

It's easy to take when folks say New York, Paris or London is the greatest because it's closer to the truth. To think that just the very large cities are great is an elitest attitude. I understand you love your hometown but no matter how many times you say its great doesnt make it so. Name something GREAT it has done. |
