If you are new to car repair/modding etc I would for sure go for a celica. There is a lot to learn about working on cars and if you could get a newer one you can learn step by step at a slower pace than if you bought an old car that is likely to have bigger problems. Also, celica parts should be easier to get your hands on.

69 camaro hands down Camaro is rear wheel drive but handling is pretty bad. If you get the Camaro put it ona diet, then go hunting. |

Yes they are, especially on 1/4 miles (small block + turbo...[thumbup]). But for autocross you'll be looking at lots of tuning and lose comfort & driveability as a daily driver. I'd say teh Camaro would be drastically superior to a Celica in every way,and it's not a chick car like a Celica either. |

A. Fun to drive is difficult to decide. Basic Celica is front wheel drive and no turbo. Camaro is rear wheel drive but handling is pretty bad. So neither would be fun to drive fast. Best choice would be Celica GT-Four, AWD with turbo (the actual one you fall in love with in Sega Rally). But from the two you posted I would go with Camaro. |

6th gen Celica looks really good. Though I would want a little more power out of a car like this.
As long as you don't go all ricey on it, and actually put money into important stuff, then it would be a cool car. If you can find one over there, I would rather get a 240, 260 or a 280 Datsun Z car. ![]() |

Well iu talked to the owner and he said the "bleuel" is broken,.. that could mean anything from big end bearings gone (not to bad if you can replace the bearings) but if the rods actually broken it would have done a lot of damage to the engine. |

LoL, were you talking about the Pleuelstange? Dude, with your knowledge of engines I wouldnt talking about a restoring an Oldtimer! So your basing your entire judgment on my limited "Rechtschreibung" ? Having that said yes the Pleuelstange is broken and the whole motor has a "Kolbenfresser", so getting a replacement motor is the smartest thing to do. btw,.. I also stated that my uncle is a mechanic as well as my "Schwager" |
