Picco Z R/C Helicopter

Tomorrow i am going to go down to my local hobby store and pick up one of these tiny little Helicopters (well technically gyrocopters), was just wondering if anyone here has one or has used one before? and if so are they worth the money?

I gave a picco to my brother for xmas.

He got me the mosquito like in this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U4QX1...elated&search=

The mosquito can hover perfectly in the air, but it's not quite as zippy. Both are very fun to fly.

These are very popular.

I think you will grow tired of it after a short while because it's only two channel and there's no real challenge. That's my experience with simple to operate RC toys at least. :)

I have seen some interesting mods on them to convert to 4 channel, looks very fiddly tho!

What RC heli would you reccomend for under £120 tah?

Its a good toy to amuse yourself with. And it gets MORE amusing when you have cats or dogs who will chase it. :)

As for boring? Well, my buggy is 2ch and I'm not bored yet. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/wink1.gif

I'm sorry but I have no clue which of the current cheap sets are good or bad. The best place to look for info would be the micro helicopter forum on www.rcgroups.com

Cars are fun if you have someone to race with, that's challenging. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/smile1.gif I can't be arsed to drive my car alone though.

Try a Twister Medevac or similar.

It can be used indoors or out (only in very calm conditions) They have coaxial rotors and although they take practice are not that hard to learn.

The most important thing is they are cheap to repair and awesome fun.

After a month or 6 you can always upgrade to something faster, less stable and harder but by then you will have learnt loads with the medevac.

Great lil machine.

*EDIT* btw, 'similar' would be an E-sky LAMA 2 v3

Update:
A co-worker got one of these for christmas and brought it to work. It's extremely durable. It fell from the hangar ceiling 9 m up and hit the floor without sustaining any damage what so ever. They have crashed it a million times, it's even flown into things with the rotors running, and it's still flying like new.

At first he had lots of problems controlling it because it was really unstable and would yaw all over the place. I suggested that he should add some extra noseweight since it relies on noseweight for forward flight and that fixed it. It flies quite well as long as it keeps the forward momentum but it's very limited in its operation.
