Okay, so I got a letter from AARP today, you know, the 50 and up club that gets good benefits and car insurance etc., explaining to me that I haven't signed up for and benefits that I am fully eligible for.

Well I don't have a credit card or anything besides my debit card, nothing has been charged on my bank account, and none of the places I shop online have no orders placed or anything out of the ordinary.

Identity theft doesn't really involve your debit cards or bank accounts. Most of the time it's someone getting your SSN and taking out a new credit card in your name, running up the bill and leaving you the one to pay for it because it's in your name.

Best to go to http://www.freecreditreport.com/. And find out if there are any new accounts you don't know about being used. I go there once every 6 months or so to check things out.
