Default What the funk is this?
This thing right here.

Cause no matter how many years of schooling it takes, I want to drive one. Preferably through downtown.

ive seen the smaller ones what they do is make large trenches that allow you to lay all manner of things from communication wires to underground bulk pipes.

the one I was was in Iraq it looked like a massive chainsaw it moved very slowly creating a long contiuous trench then the army boys wanged all manner of coms stuff into it and then replaced the displaced sand.

Yeah. I want to drive that thing, one of those huge quarry trucks, and the Space Shuttle roller-outer-thing.

Through downtown, preferably.

Some kind of earth mover.
I saw a documentary on it before. The film was mostly just about moving the thing.

It's the new "Hungry Hungry Hippos" Extreme Edition.

Wikipedia Article

It can excavate 240,000 tons daily—the equivalent of a football field dug to 30 meters (98 ft) deep

What brand of jeans do you buy? Cause I have a 'constriction' problem, too.

Its the one in North-Rhine Westphalia crossing the roads from the "old" coal site to the new Garzweiler II site.

its just about 30 km away from me and they are moving whole villages due to the coal mining

Some more pictures for the interested.

the cranes in the night picture are standard sized 25-50 ton mobile cranes, a little shorter than your standard 13,60 meter truck.

most of the hole is being filled afterwards, and there is a huge forest/lake planned in the middle of it
