Default Cop shoots double amputee wielding a pen in a wheelchair
http://www.dallasnews.com/news/local...o-be-a-pen.ece

A Houston police officer shot and killed a one-armed, one-legged man in a wheelchair Saturday inside a group home after police say the double amputee threatened the officer and aggressively waved a metal object that turned out to be a pen.
Police spokeswoman Jodi Silva said the man cornered the officer in his wheelchair and was making threats while trying to stab the officer with the pen. At the time, the officer did not know what the metal object was that the man was waving, Silva said.
She said the man came “within inches to a foot” of the officer and did not follow instructions to calm down and remain still.
“Fearing for his partner’s safety and his own safety, he discharged his weapon,” Silva told The Associated Press. One would think, the progression would go: words, pepper spray, tazer, baton, gun. I guess a one legged, one armed, in a wheelchair citizen with a bic is an example of when to skip 3 non lethal steps for the lethal one.

A swift kick would have done the trick. Also works wonders on the dogs they instead decide to execute.

Not very much detail of the situation but man inches from you, waiving some sh/t that could be a knife. Wasn't very smart of the amputee really.

Typical ignorant redneck response. What's more disturbing is that this is the second time this officer has fatally shot someone. He doesn't deserve to have his gun back.

Seriously? One foot closer and he'd have had that cop, the highway pursuit would have been impressive, pity...

**** that, I've had people come at me with a pen or some other object before, I don't have anything thing like pepper spray to defend myself at work. I have not been hurt yet, nor have any patients after we take them down.

We need to stop hiring Ned and Jimbo as police officers.

You should all know that I am better than this but...

What? The land of the free?

Whoever told you that is your enemy.

Atrocious. They should amputate that cops arm and leg. Then he'll know exactly how dangerous the disabled guy was.

Inches away from you and the police officer could not discern whether it was a knife or not? Was this Officer Magoo?

Know your enemy.

Trigger happy cop, doesn't deserve the right to own or use a gun.
