I'm guessing he's a bear, and thus hibernates in winter, after hibernation that must be quite a relief.

One of my favorites is the $500+ monthly electric bill. Those are always fun.

Yeah, our electric bill nearly doubles in the summer. Air conditioner technology still has a long way to go.

If you have enough Solar Panels, the electric company can actually end up paying you every month. (Granted you have the initial capital)

I knew many people in AZ that had done that. This elderly couple was actually generating so much energy the electric company (SRP) was paying them ~$100 a month. Their meter ran backwards...lol

This. I would also say motorcycling weather, but it's been too damn hot where I am this year... If I'm wearing leather, I'm sweating my ass off... I hate heat and humidity. If I could find a place that was ~60-65F year round, low humidity, that's be perfect for me.

That's a good idea, I might look into that in my area. Lord knows Florida has an abundance of sunlight.

Default What is your favorite thing about summer?
What is your favorite thing about summer? It's almost gone so what is it that you always look forward to during the summer of each year?

For me I love having fresh fruit. We get strawberries and pineapple and everything here year-round, but "fresh" is not flying fruit in from Chile or Argentina. Nothing beats fresh strawberries when they're in season. They're so much more tasty than what you can get in the middle of winter.

Another big one is having more daylight. In the winter we have less than 9 hours of daylight, which means getting up before the sun rises and getting out of work just as it is setting. There's nothing quite like having 12-13 hours of daylight during the summer, though. Its great being able to be outside in light all evening.

Oh, the fresh fruit is up on the list, too. The peaches were unbelievable this year!

Trackdays on the circuit with the motorcycle. My absolute favorite thing about the summer, impossible to do in wintertime for obvious reasons.

Other than that, I suppose I could list the weather, the girls, the university's introduction week in the city (because of the girls ), the sitting outside in the sun, the swimming outdoors, the walking and bicycling, the midnight running, having drinks in the evening with friends, the not being freezing cold, and so on, and so on... I guess I kinda like summer.

Even though it only lasts about a day or two here.

Longer days, seasonal fruit, Outdoor clubs, beach bars and lido's, girls wearing ever so skimpier attire, having a tan, getting to hang the hammock and spending hours on it reading, listening to music, bbq's with friends, beautiful starry nights, friends coming over to visit from abroad plus I live in Malta do there are also 3 beaches 5 mins away in every compass direction.
