I am denied every job I apply for. Don't even do an interview. This week, my friend and I applied for the same two jobs (in retail), and I was immediately turned down, and she got the interview she went to yesterday, and she just got an email saying she got the job.

I'm obviously very happy for her, but it's confusing for both of us as to what the difference is, what makes her perfect. The only difference between us is our ratings and experience, but I have the best ratings and real retail experience. She doesn't have anything at all, but the job description says they're looking for someone with experience... Obviously not. It's not like she's a really chatty confident person, we're both exactly the same - people who know us think it's weird how similar we are in the way we behave.

I don't know, I just find it weird and it gets a little annoying/stressful since I would really like to get a job. My friends and family joke about it, saying I'm too smart to work in retail, like, thank you, but I still need a job, it's annoying.

I'm sorry, but I also don't understand why you don't get a job. But I understand you. When I was 15, I thought it was very easy to find a job and work every day, until I tried it in the summer being 17. It was a hundred times more difficult than I thought. I overestimated the work of my parents. My aunt suggested that I think about remote qa testing jobs. Even though this job is not for children and requires special education, I still managed at the lowest position. Before this, of course, I was taught for a long time, but I really liked it.
