If it's wine, does it count?

Aren't you getting even a little nookie or is two months after child birth still to early? [/guy with no kids]

derinasderun 05-20-2012 10:00 AM

That goes right from the heart there Pekka. Not many people would make that comparison. Count yourself lucky.

JulietOreira 05-20-2012 04:10 PM

reg, why would that be? http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/smile.gif

It's depressing because it sounds like the highlight of your life is getting a little drunk alone a few times a week.

A guy named Pekka Rinne is the goaltender.

I'm guessing Pekka is a somewhat common name in Finland?

Not to threadjack...
Right, right... yeah Pekka is a common name here. We could have used Rinne today http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/frown.gif And yesterday http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/frown.gif http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/frown.gif

Oh well, WC are a joke anyway.

I need a new job so I can afford to buy 3 season tickets to my home team so I can bring the kids as well. Expensive http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/frown.gif ...

I've got a four-month-old, myself. They're great fun, especially if they're breast-feeding so Mommy does most of the work. No colic, I hope?

Vjwkvkoy 05-21-2012 09:29 PM

You too http://www.discussworldissues.com/im...ons/icon14.gif So you've got two kids? Or are there more? It's just the one for us...so far.

N1bNXuDb 05-22-2012 02:27 AM

Elok, yup, two. So at this moment it's kind of tough, but I suspect in few months it'll get a bit easier. Easier as in one person can handle both of them, now it's very difficult. Of course it'll be difficult then too, but now for example since I can't breast feed, I can't take them both and let mom go anywhere for, say 4 hours. Few more months and we can use bottles and stuff for exceptions, so she'll get more time off every now and then and that means I get time off as well.

They're both under 2 years old so they require tons of work. I don't expect any less work in the coming years, I expect more noise, more speed, more everything. But at least they talk and understand what we say better, even if they would refuse to obey. Communication like "are you hurt? Where are you hurting? Stomach? Or are you hungry?" Stuff like that gets easier.

But in reality, I'm very happy that we have two kids and I would not do anything differently. It's just chronic state of being tired.

We're up to a year now, in a couple of months a lot of that stuff really will magically improve and you start to get more and more feedback.

Once they can start talking, and moving around it really is great.

As a bone fide health care professional it is my regrettable duty to inform you that yes, wine does count.

Afigenatjola 05-28-2012 05:11 PM

The question isn't one of enjoyment.

(Although I do know people who don't enjoy drinking)

Actually according to a recent survey I read some 70% of doctors are tea totalers, another 25% drink no more than the equivalent of 2 beer/week.

That makes sense. First doctors know how bad alcoholism is for the body so it's natural they'll want to avoid it plus from a pure income stand point no one wants hire an alcoholic doctor so employment and earnings self interest kind of lead them down the tea totaler path.

True http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/heart.gif

So far the best thing in life is to come home. My daughter runs to my lap and smiles and laughs and is genuinely happy to see me. That's something I can't put into words... it's amazing, it's the best feeling in the world.

libertiespana 05-31-2012 08:55 PM

Elok, you're absolutely right. It's often not what you do, it's the way you do it. And that you just do it. Then, repeat, repeat, repeat http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/smile.gif

Narcodran 05-31-2012 09:48 PM

It really does get easier. Honestly. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/smile.gif
