How superstitious are you?
 

If a coin comes up heads 10 times in a row then I update my priors about it being a fair coin.

Would you count it as superstitious?

On an emotional level I am very superstitious. It's more fun that way. On an intellectual level I am not superstitious at all so far as I can tell, but I'd be surprised if at least some of those truths I accept aren't just superstitions themselves.

I wanted to say "not at all", but I sometimes notice it when it's friday the 13th, so maybe "1".

Religion pretty clearly fits the definition of superstition to the letter.

So basically, it refers to all those unreasonable religions. Not a reasonable one, like, say, witchcraft.

I put down 2. I will not punch old gypsy women, just in case.

In my daily life, I'm not superstitious. But, I do believe if an announcer says, "he hasn't thrown an interception in 3 weeks, missed a free throw, field goal, etc., that almost immediately a miss will occur.

Or, if I bet on a game, that team will lose.

They don't seem to fit the definition Loin offered of a supernatural causality--they're more of an unverifiable belief concerning the afterlife. I suppose if you believed breaking a mirror would bring down bad juju because it irritates the ghosts, that might count as a superstition, but the general drift here seems to be idiosyncratic ideas about the consequences of our actions.
