I am not sure I understand paying $500 for a mobile device that's crippled by only being useful when you are around Wi-Fi. Or is it just because NA 3G is so crap? Most places I would have wanted to use one had WiFi (same with a laptop). Exceptions are if you are lost/etc, but then use a phone. JM |

The iPad has iWork, which is decent, what does the Android tablets have? How does note taking software compare? JM Not sure. If you're looking for existing apps, the iPad will have way more currently. Android tablets are just too new. iWork on iOS devices is pretty limiting. I don't think they do anything Google Docs doesn't. |

I'm working with iPads and iPhones & Android devices at work as well.
I've got a prototype working where if you walk up with an iPhone or iPad to one of our interactive whiteboards, you can push a button on the iPhone/iPad to instantly and wirelessly transfer a file loaded on your device and have it displayed on the whiteboard. Teachers will love this ****. Literally, one button on the device to do this all (assuming they're already paired via bluetooth -- this is the next problem I'm trying to solve, to make this trivial). Ideas like this come to me because I play with these toys. |
