Now that's a bogus excuse. Many news sites have imbedded flash based videos. Much of the web streaming content is flash based. I'm really not looking for them to make a point here.
The ones I use have adopted HTML5 based video. I'm not saying that nobody needs flash on the iPad, I'm just saying that the lack of it hasn't affected me.

Safari browser is weak. Often doesn't display pages properly (especially if there are forms to fill in)
Like what?

There are options for playing Flash content: Puffin Browser for one.

I don't know why people keep playing the "Flash card". Even Adobe admit it's dying. In any case most sites these days supply iOS compatible video, and the latest version of server-side Flash does that automatically. What are these sites you're so keen to view whose videos don't work on iOS?

I don't have anything to add to this subjective thread, but I will say that is it not curious that many, if not all, public schools in America use Apple computers? At least they did when I was younger, could be different now? http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo.../confused1.gif

They sure won't anymore since Apple dropped out of epeat certification.

That means that most gov departments, schools and the military can't buy most macs any more.

That is interesting. I haven't been inside any public schools recently, but when I was a kid, it was all old iMacs http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...es/tongue1.gif

The school system I attended didn't have any, but the neighboring district was all mac. I also worked at a district for a year or so in another area and they had only a handful of macs.

Apple is back on board with epeat certification. Old news already http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/wink1.gif

My lab professor uses Apple and is in love with Apple like a lot of Apple users are which is odd.

It was kinda funny because all during the semester he was like "I wish windows did this" or "Does windows do this?" and he was constantly like "Oh" and "That's neat" which is kinda funny. Blamed a lot of Windows on the rubbish PC it was installed on as well.

The whole Win/OS thing is boring. They are both great OS, just whatever you prefer and/or what you have grown up on. Really if you have grown up on something, it is hard to move to something else. I have used OS only very little but do not bash it. I know that it is a powerful tool just like Windows. My only issue with OSX is that the price you pay for weaker hardware on a PC is just weak. Why pay a $500+ premium for worse hardware just because of the OS? No OS is worth the price premium you pay with Apple.

As far as the OP complaint, I do get that. For an average user that is annoying, but on those popups there is a link to change that setting so the average joe only need to read a couple lines to go, "sweet, I can disable this!". Nothing to really complain about. First time you see it can also be the last time.
Plus it is MS approach to strengthening their security aspect of the OS.

Speaking of Flash.... is it being pulled from the Android Play Store soon?... and why?

No idea, but if I had to guess I'd say because it is a rubbish, buggy, resource eating pain in the arse.

Honestly, we will consider every other possible option before suggesting a flash option to clients and sometimes dump the idea altogether.

Hadn't read that. Cheers.

Anyway, I don't think they will last long though with the way their newest and future designs are going, you know, glued batteries etc.

Besides the fact that the latest Retina Pro's are practically unserviceable.

Adobe has announced that mobile flash is basically dead. They will not be releasing flash for jelly bean. If you go to the google play page from a Nexus 7 running Android 4.1 it says it's not available for your device. I did install it manually for a friend though on his Nexus 7. It works, but not officially supported.

It's a step backwards IMO. I'm not pleased with the new design of the rMBP.

What about Mac usability?

Finder is the worst piece of **** file manager since the dawn (LOL) of GUI, this includes the old versions of Nautilus.

Have you ever tried to use iPhoto/iTunes/iDvD/etc with a network share? Holy mother of God, what an unfocused development team.

To ideally use a Mac, you have to have a huge local disk... how much does that cost from the factory? Or what happens to the warranty if you upgrade it yourself? Usability my ass.

However, Windows 7 is not without it ****ing annoyances either. I will raise all of the above with this concept: Libraries, the left pane in Windows Explorer and the default function of the Windows Explorer shortcut. Who dropped the ball this badly?

Truth is, most OS's have too broad of an audience to balance the power users with the users that can not get out of their own way.

This is true. It has reduced me to tears on a number of occasions.
