I'm guessing Google Maps will still be available on the App store? 3D Mode is a complete gimmick, though - like someone said in the comments: who uses Google Earth to navigate?

Do Windows Phones come with Bing Maps or Google Maps?

Can one still download Google Maps if Bing maps is standard.

Interesting times. Especially once Facebook gets their own phone and OS.

Bing, I just got a Lumia 900. It's about to get exchanged for something else though. The apps are really lacking, and it feels like a kids phone with some of the internet browsing.

Kind of old news, Apple has been saying that it wants to use it own version of maps for ages.

Anyway, I'll be on Android by then.

I find 3D maps very useful, especially when cycling since there are a lot of cycle routes which aren't marked out on mapping services like Google. The 3D makes it a lot easier to work out if a potential route is cycle-able or not.

The iPhone version of Google Maps omits cycle routes (although the Android version doesn't).

The iphone version of Google maps is probably the worst map service of the lot.

Everything is pointing to Apple using their own inhouse map service after buying a 3D mapping company.

I just hope they have something like Google's Navigation app because it is awesome. The built in navigation in iOS was great many years ago but by today's standards is very long in the tooth and in need of a major overhaul.
