Default Tesla.........wow
My brother in law has a Tesla for the weekend..

I'm impressed to say at least!
Have a small video in which he turns the car around. Unfortunately no inside video's and of the driving, but what an acceleration.

I do have a few picis taken, but the rest of the fun is located in my brain. Man, on my way home , my Audi diesel felt sluggish hahaha!

Ohh yeahh.. I said shhhhhh to my sister in the vid I was recording.

That's really weird no sound man... it'd do my head in that... a car with that pulling power with no sound... at some point we'll all have to get used to it with Hydrogen cars (not these silly battery ones)... but for now, a V8 rules. Have they improved the miles on a fill up on these? What ya get? Also, are these based on Lotus? They look very similar? Dont' knwo much about Tesla other than it seems to fall a little short on the claims?

I believe it was the Lotus designer who did the styling for it, but I could be wrong.

The chassis is from a Lotus Elise if I am not mistaken..
Glued aluminium chassis parts.
Rest is carbon fiber or something like that
thing has it all:

full automatic 0-60 in under 4 seconds
airconditioning
softtop
full radio and navigation
but that's blah blah

I'll upload some pics tonight.. first I got to do some BF3 training and server setup for clan.

--- Post Update ---

@pug about 400km radius.

4 Euro per full " tank"

So what have they got the recharge time down to?
Seems to me that's the biggest drawback with electric vehicles - other than initial purchase price, of course.

Depends on your charger, like the old rechargeble batteries.
There's quick loaders and normal. I believe at normal (220v) it takes about 8 hours.

Driving on circuit, full power continiously the batt be empty or nearly at around 10mins.

Only car faster accelerating to 100km/ph is a Ferrari,, but this boy goes to 240 kp/h at once. No gears whatsoever, ****ingawesome! Not to mention it has traction control too hahahhaa

There are a fair amount on the roads out here. The Headquarters and main dealership is about 10 minutes south if where I live.

I've been driving electric for 4 years now.

And Tesla Roardster is not the only electric car available on the market.

Holden Commodore V8's can get around 8L/100km (US 30mpg) or less on the highway. I'm thinking of getting one when I can afford it and getting a gas conversion installed.

EDIT: For comparisons sake I generally get around 7L/100km in my 4cyl 1992 Mazda 626.

that number is not realistic, when you consider the average life of a car and the required percentage of new vehicles being electric would be well above 100%

I pay ****ing £50 a week for fuel just to get to work. I want an electric car already, preferably one that's powered from the heat of my ass on the seat.
