Wipeout in real life!
|
Woah, that's awesome!!! [thumbup]

Sweeeet

my coolness scale blew up [surrender]
|
So where can I order a wipeout racer?
Awesome way to show off this tech[thumbup] |
One step closer to fifth element! xD
|
|
That is so cool!
|
It's my understanding that scientists still have absolutely no idea how it works. They know how to do it and have an understanding but don't actually know what's causing it?

My mind is blown [surrender]

I have had the idea for years that if we could precisely control the 'shape' of a magnetic field that this effect could be approximated without the need for super conductors and the cold temperatures they require. Imagine a 'grid' of electromagnet 'pixels' that would all be directly controlled by sensors and software. Maybe one could get the stability of this quantum effect without the exotic materials and equipment needed.

Scalectrix is dead.

It looks strangely fake though. The LN trails look... computerish.

Superconduction is nothing new, but this is a damn good application of it http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/smile1.gif. I wish I had a Wipeout track instead of showing the effect off with the usual "levitating cube" when I do high school science demos.
Like previously referenced, the holy grail will be figuring out how to get materials superconductive at room temperature. EDIT: Seems that the video is fake though. http://z6mag.com/featured/controlled...al-164282.html |
Shame....

at least the sountrack is real and kicks major ass
