Was bored and listening to some music and its amazing over the years how many songs have shared the same melody (not remakes or covers though, ie different lyrics)
A few examples M.C. Hammer - Cant touch this --- > Rick James - Super Freak Coolio - Gangsters paradise -- > Stevie Wonder - Pastime Paradise Tech N9NE - I'm a Playa --> Falco - Rock me Amadeus couple others ive read on the net but im not 100% sure on The Beatles - Ob-la-di, ob-la-da --> Offspring - why dont you get a job Vanilla Ice - ice ice baby --> Queen & David Bowie - Under pressure |

Uber Allies (I think it's called), the Hitler song, has the same music as a Christian psalm or hymn we has to sing in school. |

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pidokakU4I As for rap songs, you can pretty much contribute every catchy/popular rap song to sampling from some older 60's or 70's R&B, blues, soul or funk tune, This is why Dr Dre is known for his beats and melodies, because he has some originality to a lot of his work, but even he has dipped into the old music for samples. Run-DMC (RIP Jam Master Jay) and Tone Loc preferred rock rifts for their more popular songs, which worked out well for them commercially and spawned a whole slew of rock-rap artist around the time they were popular. Run-DMC used mostly original guitar work but did dub some known rock songs for their work. The list is HUGE when talking about song that used sampling to provide the melodies. So for my contribution to the list, we go to these two songs; Green Day - Brain Stew and Papa Roach - Last Resort (sorry for the edited version, didn't put much effort into it) |

I think you're thinking of Deutschland über alles. Which isn't a Nazi Anthem btw, but the first line of the Deutschlandlied, aka the German National Anthem. I'm not certain but I've heard that the Nazis wrote some of their own verses and used that as the Nazi anthem during that time. |

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pidokakU4I The 4 chords are pretty logical and sound good together so it's obvious a lot of songs are built around these chords. playing in other keys makes it sound different as well, but the 4 chords will be there just in another key. |

Isn't there a couple Linkin Park songs that sound exactly the same too? Can't remember if that's them or not now. Are you thinking of the Remixes and mash-ups that they've done with other groups? |
