There is a project on YouTube where people can create videos to try to reach out to gay teenagers. I found the Comedy Central one to be pretty cool. On the right side of the web page, you can select and view a number of these different "It Gets Better" videos.

What are some ideas on how to decrease the rate of suicide among gay teens? I think one thing that should be done, is for parents to start actually teaching their children to respect others who are different in any way.
There are also examples of some schools that already have an active anti-bullying program. If more schools across the country implement such programs, we would probably see a drop in suicides. x-post: Not meant for the retard who posted after Asher. |

Question for you, Mr. Fun.
So no one except for Asher and I care about the senseless loss of lives. I'm reminded of the Green Lantern comic, "In blackest night", where a black man confronts Hal Jordan, about how he has done considerable for all manner of alien races. Yet nothing for the black man. You've never done anything for my community Mr. Fun. Why is this? Why have you not spoken for them? |

WTF are you talking about? What's a Black Green Lantern, and where does he reference it? Hal Jordan was in fact the Green Lantern. This is the kind of problem you get yourself into when you want to disagree with Ben over everything he says, and then don't bother reading. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Stewart_(comics) He was a Green Lantern who was Black. Ben's post would have been more interesting if that was the Green Lantern that he was referencing... a Black guy helping the aliens of the universe while not his own people. That would be an interesting concept. But I guess the comic book writers, not surprisingly, didn't think of that and had one of the white guys do given that question. |
