Default PT portion order
What order do you prefer to take the PT test in? I know most go with waist (required first), situps, pushups, the run . . but do you have a different order you prefer?

I took a practice test today doing the run before the strength portion and I was pleasantly surprised. I think I'll keep working on doing the strength portion while I'm tired to get used to it.

Js: How much time did you take off your average run time by running first?

For me, if I completed situps and pushups first, I lost about 15-20 seconds on my run time. Average run time (running first) was 8:20. Average run time after completing situps and pushups was 8:40.

My preference is to work out every day, but not have Big Blue make me prove it! As long as I could do my job, why should the AF care? I think if the original weight management program was enforced the way it was supposed to be, we wouldn't have to have this program.

Because you were in the military.
No I wasn't, if I was, I would have joined the Army! I was in the Air Force, where it used to be bettter to be smart than it was to be physical! It was the Army attitude that started ruining the Air Force, as I and many people knew it when it wwas great!

Again, please read your response before posting it. I stated that you were in the military, which I know you were based off previous threads, and you responded "... I was in the Air Force". Is the Air Force not part of the military? When you enlisted did you think you were joining a secret underground club for smart people who did not want to go to Ivy League schools or the military?

Anyway you cut it, you joined the military.

The elipsis was just for you WestCoast !
You got me on that one. I WAS in the military. I just was in what was considered the thinking persons military.

For me, the run was a lot better than I've had in a while, by about 1 minute. I'm a big guy and not necessarily a good runner, but I was about to post a sub 11min run. However, my situps suffered because I tend to use my legs a lot (I need to correct my form, which shouldn't take too much extra effort).

For me, I sit in the Lazy Boy first, then I open a cold beer, next I turn the TV to Sportscenter. During my nap I always run in the 8:15 range and max out situps and pushups

For me, running is much easier before the other stuff. I was surprised at how much leg strength I used when doing situps. I prefer to run (legs are fresh), then do situps (so abs aren't tired from pushups) then pushups (minimum is so low, even on my worst day I couldn't get close to not reaching it).

I thought it was just me. Situps strain the hell out of my outer thighs which inturn slows my run time.
