I'll end up playing all these courses for about $160 dollars or less by the time all my buddies pay me for their share. For those that are too tight to pay, well I've got lots more buddies that I play golf with.

That's 6 x $42= $252
+
$180 for Dalhousie
=$432

and I'll be paying less than $160.

I imagine we'll play one of them in a couple of weeks because there's a course closure at my home course for a corporate scramble. September is the time of year my course has all of these things for them to make extra money, supposedly to help keep our dues down.

I was really proud of the buddy who handed me the $160 in the parking lot. He's the tightest fucker I know.
My 3 golfing buddies have now all ponied up $160 each. It's in my pocket.
$480.
Leaves me out $145. A round at Dalhousie costs $180 by itself.

I rounded up for a slight interest and shipping, handling, and coupon storage charge.

Default Scramble Auction
I played in the SIU men's golf fundraiser scramble today. We shot 53, 51 won it. I was hitting the driver to places I hadn't been in years but the asst. pro was on our team and naturally being in his 20's and a pro he was outdriving me by 50 yards. Also everytime I hit a green 10 feet from the pin, he hit it 6 feet from the pin. Had a great time.

There was an auction afterwards. First up were foursome rounds with cart at 6 courses.
Stone Creek
Franklin County Coutry Club (private)
Jackson County Country Club (used to be private before it went broke and sold)
Gambit Golf Club
Green Hills Country Club
Hickory Ridge Golf Club

That's 24 rounds with cart included. I've played all these courses and they're nice courses, no goatpaths among them. They're all $40-$45 dollar per 18 courses. Must have been a bunch of tight sons of bitches there because there wasn't much interest. I bought it for $300.

Then came Paducah Country Club. I bought that last year and we played it this year so I wasn't really interested (talked to the pro and he pretty much said just call him and I can get on) although it's a private course. It went for $250. I raised my hand to up it to $275 but Thank God the pro didn't see it.

Then came what I really wanted. Dalhousie. It's an exclusive club in Cape Girardeau and if you have connections and can get on it's $180. Hell, Mark McGwire's a member there. Memberships are $25,000 a year with a minimum of something like a grand a month minimum in the clubhouse I've been told. I used to know the pro down there and he told me to call him and come and play for free but I didn't get around to it and he moved on.
I got a foursome there for $325.

A buddy of mine that I play golf with every weekend handed me $160 cash in the parking lot for a fourth of all this so I wouldn't forget to invite him
