I was looking at some other golf forums yesterday morning. They came up when I did a google search about iron lofts.
There's some funny shit out there.

Examples, I'm paraphrasing from memory:
I sent my clubs to "Dr. Feelgood" and he ground some of the bounce off of all of them, added vibration dowels and bent the lofts 1 degree stronger for me. Now I'm hitting my pitching wedge 135 yards and thinking about adding a 5th wedge, probably a 64 degree for those tough shots around the green.

then he says
My distance has really gone up in the last 10 years. When I was 59 I only hit my driver 235.

Although I haven't come across anyone silly enough to admit that they carried a full bag of hybrid irons yet.

I hit a drive over 300 yesterday on 17. It helps that its downhill.

I also hooked on 1 into the woods and topped 1 short of the ladies tees...

I had a so so day, 84. I lost my nassau by one stroke after I 3 putted 9.

Hooked my tee shot in the water on 18, dropped and hit a 6 iron from 175 to 6 ft. and made the putt for par. That was satisfying.

Shot 89 yesterday. Was even par through 6 on the back nine until the fuckin' mosquitos came out. Doubled 7, 8, and 9 and couldn't even stand still long enough to swing. This summer's been brutal in my area for mosquitos.
