on the PGA tour, I'm wondering could you caddy for yourself? clearly in the junior ranks, but I'm intrigued to know about the tour...anyone know?

Are you asking on behalf of gresh, who's about to join the tour?

i would imagine that you have to have one but it doesnt matter either way. given the choice i would always have someone carry my clubs for me given the opportunity.

I've never seen it happen, so I would guess there's a rule about it.

Similar to the one that says you have to wear pants in 100+ weather.

He's a permanent visitor at the hall of shame.

I imagine he's moved on to another forum to spread his wisdom and deeds of wonder.

I've known lots of bullshitters in my life, but most of them try to con you face to face.

But on the internet? Why?

Even if you're an abject loser, who cares?

The PGA tour goes by the same rules as the USGA and R&A.

They're not required to have caddies unless there is a local rule in place for that tournament ordering it. I would guess that Augusta used to have that rule when they supplied their own caddies back in the day.

But, in order to seriously compete I'd think a player would want someone else carrying his bag and giving him yardages. He needs the help and also to save his energy.
