I play classical violin and when I had exams or performances I would practice like crazy up to the day before the event. I would spend the second last day working through any difficult or sloppy bits getting them right and would play each piece until I got it right and that was it.. practice was done.

The day before I would know I had done all the preparation I could and I would relax and do something different and carry good mental pictures (sounds?) for the day. (I passed my exams all the way through grade 8 Royal Conservatory with Highest Honors.)

I would guess golf could be the same. Work on your shots until you hit them right and relax the day before reviewing your good mental pictures so you are fresh and ready the day of the tournament, with good mental pictures of your best golf in your head.

I made a big mistake of going to the range and hit a 135 ball bucket the night before a weekend tourney with my buddies. My ball contact was great with better than avg distance hitting off the grass but come the next morning and hit the range, I was somewhat tired, back a little sore, and couldn't find my groove. Am curious how do you prepare yourselves during the week before a Sat tourney?
I normally prepare the same as you did, except I would add 2 hours of short game practice to the end.

Generally I do no "heavy work" the day before the tournament. All the range work is done early in the week. If I play Thursday, it is usually a leisurely 9 holes. Friday, I will practice chipping and putting only. Of course, none of this crap works, but at least I'm not tired and sore for the tournament.

Monday through Thursday is hard practice. Two of those days will be range days, two of those days will be course days. If it's a course I'm a member to, then I play around the greens quite a bit. I get a feel for my short game because I'm no pro, and short game scrambling can save a lot of strokes if I know how the ball will react on and around the greens. Range days are just about ball striking. I spread it pretty evenly between long irons, short irons, and driver/3 wood. I also spend maybe 10 shots hitting my 3 wood off the deck to see if it's going to be a week where I can do that. Since the answer is usually no, I learn that I'll be laying up on par 5s and relying on the 100 yard shot to get me close for a birdie.

Friday is my light day. I may play a few holes, or goto a range. I hit maybe a half sized bucked (about 50 balls). 25 will just be easy going iron shots. I will only hit about 5 driver shots. And the rest I dedicate to 10-50 yard pitch shots. This keeps me rested and loose, but maintains my short game feel. I rarely putt on Fridays, unless it's just a simple ladder drill to maintain my putting stroke and confidence on 4-8 foot putts.

Finally, I eat pasta on Friday night, and I'm sure to get to bed at a decent time.

I just trust in my swing and practice short game the day before and the day of. I always practice putting since in my mind I lose most of my pars here. Then I always stretch before. A nice 10 minute stretch is better than a 10 minuted hurried practice time-my club pro taught me this and awesomely enough when I played with him I was only a few stories behind I'm a bogey golfer haha.

Hit short Iron and wedge shots every day. Pitching, mostly. Stretch a bit. Eat healthy that week.

I prepare for a tournament the way I would a casual round of golf. I arrive at the course about 30 minutes before my tee time and spend about 10 minutes hitting wedges and irons, 10 minutes hitting woods and drivers, and the final 10 minutes chipping and putting.

Prior to arriving on the course, I'll stretch for about 15-20 minutes at home.
