Default Turned away from 2 courses yesterday...
and I was peeved to say the least. My real close and real cheap local course had an outing and or some league play so they turned me away. Then the next closest course turned me away too. After waiting till 11 to find out I couldnt play I went home dejected and upset. After hitting some balls on the range. But still.

Rained hard all night and into the early morning. I hate soggy, mud golf. Looks like Im not playing today either! Plus its already so humid you can grab pieces of air outside and eat it. Yuck!

Why did you have to wait before they told you that you couldn't play at the second course? Didn't they know right away?

Well I was there around 10:30 ish and they had a twosome for 10:50 that still hadnt checked in. If they didnt show they were going to squeeze me in there. They showed.

Why don't you make a tee time in advance when you know you want to play?

I see. Bummer, but that's the hazards of walking up. Hope you have better luck next time.

They dont do tee times for singles. They say just show up and they will try to fit you in.

That's silly because I'm sure they have 3-somes or even 2-somes they can put you with.

I run into that problem all the time, stupid standby list. I had to wait two hours once, they were booked solid with foursomes the whole time. I found that Golfnow.com lets you book tee times for singles, might be worth looking into.

Just make a tee time for a two-some and show up by yourself saying the other guy couldn't make it?

Anywhere and everywhere. I work in Malvern and I've played Broad Run over by you in WC. I tend to play Skippack, Shannondell, Arrowhead, Westover, and Limerick the most. Every now and then Hickory Valley

Yeah I see a couple courses on my nice drive in but have yet to play them. They look pretty nice. I stick to MD and DE courses for the most part.

Lefty: I don't know, but I took it that there was already a twosome in that time slot that they were pairing up the missing twosome with. Otherwise, there would have only been three players including Kevin and he would have been able to play.

That wouldn't fly around here. We have to book tee times with a credit card. There is a 24-hour cancellation policy so if I book for a 2-some and show up alone - unless I bat my eyelashes the right way - I'm paying greens fees for 2.
