Muhammad Ilyas influenced by Said Nursi?

I noticed this on a salafi website

‘’Abdullaah bin Mubarak al-Qahtani said:

‘Muhammad Ilyaas al-Kandalawi is regarded as the founder of the Tableeghi ... and he was the one who made the fundamental principles for the .... Muhammad Ilyaas took it in turn and acquired it from Sa’eed an-Nursi who was called Badeea’ az-Zaman an-Nursi[46] (1293 A.H. – 1379 A.H.) in Turkey. So the foundation of the ideology was from Turkey, and it grew and was brought up and implemented and propelled from India.’ According to them Maulana Muhammad Ilyas (ra) was influenced by the teachings of Bediuzzaman Said Nursi (ra).

I have never heard this before, nor have I had any reason to suspect such a link.

does anyone know if this has any basis?

if it is made up or their confusion then does anyone know why they think this?

Please provide the complete text. Otherwise it doesn't make it clear which principles it's referring to.

Assalamu alaykum

The ideology of Moulana Ilyas RA is best followed in Pakistan, India and Sri Lanka.

A very few jamaaths from turkey are visiting India. And that too very recently only a few have understood the work of dawat-o-tableegh in Turkey.

If the ideology would have been taken from Turkey, then Turks would have been the first among the foreign countries to take this work.

Wallahu Aalam.

This "Turkish link to TJ" theory is another salafi day dreaming. I dont know what would Ibn-e-seereen RA. give tabeer to it. Some one can check out in his 'Ta'abeer ar Ruya'.!

As long as people from all over the world and from all walks of life engage in the work of Deen, nobody cares and definitely the zimmedaars at the markaz wouldn't care if its a turkey thing or an indian thing, the work of tabligh is one of the biggest sunnahs of all the Prophets pbut.

The rewards of Hadrath Said Nursi rh and Maulana Ilyasji rh lie with Allah SWT, we should thank Allah SWT for saving our ikhlaas.

Tabligh is a means, the ultimate goal is Deen - thats a quote of the markaz.

The markaz actually advises the workers to consider the work of tabligh as their own work [Daawat ke kaam ku apna kaam samjho].

If the La Madhabis then are going to leave in khurooj, I humbly request them - go to India and advise the La Madhabis over there not to oppose the work as they are doing now.

Lets stay in perspective then.

If the La Madhabis believing it to be a turkish thing engage in the work, then so be it. We welcome them with open arms.

It doesn't really matter if Maulana saab was influenced by Maulana Said Nursi. After all, Ulema all over the world are influenced by others, whether their own teachers or the books of scholars of previous generations. Shaykh Azzam was influenced by Sayyid Qutb; does that make what Shakyh Azzam did any less meaningful? Etc. Anyway, if Maulana saab was influenced by Said Nursi then http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/alhamd.gif since Said Nursi was a total legend http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ilies/mash.gif. It would be the case of one legend influencing another
