The Mahr is of your full ownership, you can dispose it however you like. I read it in a Shafi'i Book 'Reliance of the Traveller'. Here is the extract: m8.5 The bride possesses the marriage payment when it has been expressly stipulated. She may dispose of it when she accepts it, and her ownership of it is finalized when her husband has sexual intercourse with her (O: after which none of it is refundable), or when one of them dies before they have had intercourse. |
