Default Is Uk walking on the same direction as France regarding Muslims?
As Salam Wa3leikoum Wa Rahmatu Allah,

I want to start talking about that because I am french leaving in France but keen on to live in the UK.
You know i've passed bu bachelor in Lincoln in 2009 then I came back in France and it was a big clash i tell you !!!

Then i was looking for a job in my field ( Marketing or personal Assistant), but nothing came on, so a found a job in Al Kindi School, one of the bigest Islamic private school in France. But really not interesting i mean not in term of contact but more because this is not my profile.

Then i wanted to escape again, i found a training in Malaysia for 4 months, WAW big and great experience!!! In March I came back and found the big debate on: The place of Islam in France, Wallahi brothers and sister,I was so depressed subhan Allah !!! But now the question is: What's about The UK? Is it still quite calm and relax or do non muslim start to be afraid about islam.

Sorry for my poor english,

Fi Amanillah

Europe is becomming old age pensioner and its old man hateful tendency is just that. Try to venture out to Canda, Newzeland, Australia and make sure donot allow your community to become insular looking. Muslim specially have to work little bit harder to disspel the sterotype.

Salam, what do you mean by: to become insular looking?
I know i know that it's quite natural in Europe but why the state support that, you see what i mean?
I mean where are here, we are french born here, grown up here, and so on...

It's juste crazy how big the difference is between France and uk, i feel it like that, but sometimes i question myself to know if I am not just given too much credit to the UK.

Wa Salam

Hi Soraya,

I feel sad about your post as I am in France right now.

I know so many young people with good education struggling to find a good job (me included) so I understand your problems.

I guess if you wear the veil it will be even more difficult for you.. so what I hear about the UK it does sound more relaxed, like wearing the veil in offices and public administration or transport is ok. Also I read that in London there are over 50% non-white-people, so I guess tolerance is high.. of course there are always some racists, in every country and conservative politicians will argue against the burqua etc...

Good luck for your future!

Yeh, you are right, I have seen a video about the muslim community in Australia and it's quit difficult for them too. New Zealand i can't tell you really.
But the thing is that there is a big gap, i mean for instance we really can't work with our hijab so imagine for women who have project or follow a special field till the end of the educational system and at the end, nothing, it's realy unfair from them, But wal Hamdoullillah in Allah we trust and He is the one the Most Faire.

I think every country is walking the same path as France. Only their pace is different. Eventually it will become very difficult for muslims to save their Iman.

salam alikum,
noooo, I dont believe that. One day it became ridiculous that they are afraid of piece of cloth/hijab or praying people... this is what Ithink. Many positive happens due to revolutions, there is many things uncovered many prejudices and barriers broken. Islam is not more something secret and misterious.
I wonder why muslim women give up the hijab, I can not believe it is so difficult in western countries.

salam,
, no I am not closing eyes, we should not do it. Just I dont live there and with my western European boos I have only good experience, I can wear hijab in work, even I am only one in out town and far alone in our very big company. I know one person who was very upset on me wearing hijab, and I was scared in first moment, but why? Then I realized that he makes big buh-buh on me - it is his problem that he is so manipulated and scared by piece of cloth as I say. Some time ago I was also of the opinion that we muslims shall be almost invisible as we might disturb others., but now I am sure - all only needs its time. After - people aroung me see that I am normal person - they do no care what I wear and how I look. I am not so important that they should spend much time thinking and care of me. That is my personal experience. They might smile on me, but when they spea to me they do not show any disrespect and things go normally.
It is politicians making rumor about everything, common people turn back after sometime - all big bubble bursts.
I wanted to say - we should not feel more oppressed than reality really is.
Storm is may be here but we shall face it. Every one is responsible fo him and her self alone!

w salam
