Default May we say Performing Sins is Hypocrisy?
I had been studying the criticism of Ibn Rajab al-Hanbali of-the arba'in: http://www.almeshkat.net/books/open.php?cat=8&book=74 (see part 4) H-e describes two kinds of hypocrisy, and the 'little' one isn't kufr: والثاني : النفاق الأصغر ، وهو نفاق العمل (2) ، وهو أنْ يُظهر الإنسانُ علانيةً صالحةً ، ويُبطن ما يُخالف ذلك . وأصولُ هذا النفاق ترجع إلى الخصال المذكورة في هذه الأحاديث ، وهي خمسة ... قال الحسنُ : كان يقال : النفاقُ اختلاف السِّرِّ والعلانية ، والقول والعمل ، والمدخل والمخرج ، وكان يقالُ : أُسُّ النفاق الذي بني عليه النفاق ... وسُئل حذيفة عن المنافق ، فقال : الذي يصف الإيمان ولا يعمل به Some components where elsewhere translated: Nifaaq (hypocrisy) in the Arabic language indicates the overall group of fraud, talking and presenting an external appear-ance of good while covering its opposite. In-the Sharee'ah, nifaaq is of-two types: Greater (An-Nifaaq Al-Akbar ): To provide an external appear-ance of perception in Allaah, His Angels, His publications, His messengers, the final time, an such like. while covering within that which negates all-or a number of that. This is actually the hypocrisy which the Prophet (sal-Allaahu 'alayhe wa sallam) faced throughout his life and the people who Allaah said in the Qur'aan that they're in 'the cheapest level of hell-fire.' Reduced (An-Nifaaq Al-Asghar) o-r hypocrisy of action: To provide an external appear-ance of good and good actions while covering within that which negates that. This type of hypocrisy is made on-the 5 issues described in-the hadeeth available. Those things within this hadeeth are section of reduced hypocrisy. One that has these personality faculties in connection with others is probably to possess them with respect to Allaah and His Prophet (sal-Allaahu 'alayhe wa sallam). That's why the existence of them is just a 'indication' of the existence of greater nifaaq. Laying. Al-Hasan Al-Basree said: 'Nifaaq is the distinction between the internal and the look, between record and motion and between entering and leaving and it was previously stated that the building blocks of nifaaq where it's constructed is laying.' Ibn Umar was told: 'We enter the clear presence of the leader we talk to him apart from what we say after we leave.' Ibn Umar said: 'We used to think about that hypocrisy.' [Bukhaaree] Therefore my question is: these claims are very obvious when you commit sins while you're referring to Imaan, it may be called hypocrisy. Like Hasan stated that hypocrisy will be the distinction between motion and record? O-r may be the portion وهو نفاق العمل (2) ، وهو أنْ يُظهر الإنسانُ علانيةً صالحةً ، ويُبطن ما يُخالف ذلك talking about overtly doing great actions, whilst having the purpose of riya? It'd be talking about one act, when you are hiding some thing from that particular act i.e. showcase because ذلك should make reference to علانيةً صالحةً? Any comments are valued.
