http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7...109482,00.html Group attempts numerous books for oaths Jewish teams join request following judge's denial of request to make use of Quran for such oaths By Associated Press <font color="#000000">From information article: GREENSBORO, N.C. - Several leaders from various faiths has requested a County, North Carolina, judge to permit texts from different religions to be properly used for courtroom oaths. The demands follow the judge's denial of the demand to make use of the Muslim holy guide, the Quran, for such oaths. A letter was sent by the group - made up of more than 20 religious leaders from the area, including those of Christian, Jewish and Buddhist faiths - to Guilford Superior Court Judge T. Douglas Albright, who says a pledge on the Quran isn't authorized. The Reverend Mark Sills is executive director of FaithAction, an organization that encourages knowledge among various communities. Sills says if Christians thought what it'd be like to live in a location where the Bible wasn't permitted for oaths it'd feel like a punch in the face. The problem is also before the state's Administrative Office of the Courts.
